![]() ![]() A cult that takes over a small US town in a JRPG setting But overall, the Qu are more like extremely vengeful "genetic artists" rather than creating creatures of pure suffering they basically mostly made humans into a variety of animals. Granted, that is just one planet and on the other end of the scale, there is the humans reengineered into sapient slabs of meat that filter waste just out of spite. And they actually created one Hedonic species which has the intelligence of a 3 year old human and put them on a planet with no predators to live idylic lives of play, food, sleep and sex on tropical beaches. Most human derived species created by Qu are just animals living in some sort of an ecosystem. I know I also supported S, but on the other hand - vast majority of Q-engineered human descendants are actually non-sapient animals, living animal lives, not some sadistic nightmare. Also seems to be contracting with galactic alien superpowers, who sell him weapons and link him into their gate network, for unknown reasons. Infernal Service Provider (Empowered) - Runs an extradimensional hell dimension with eternal (spoiler warning) horrific personalized torments, that appears to both damn people for weird and arbitrary reasons and attempts to get as many people as possible to sell their souls to be tortured in the afterlife. Not really that altruistic though, and very willing to harbor terrorists and criminals from elsewhere, so maybe a B? Human Diaspora (Dirty Pair) - Diverse posthuman space habitat collective spreading across the galaxy to minimize the probability of a future apocalypse wiping out civilization, with post scarcity tech and extreme personal and morphological freedom. Gives any major group who wants one an island and then stays hands off, only providing for common self defense, preventing externalities, and forcing islands to let anyone leave who wants to go. UniGov ( Archipelago) - Military authority dedicated to the development of a previously uninhabited archipelago, which attempts to allow as many different ideologies as possible to build worlds as they see fit. Gravital (All Tomorrows) - Posthuman civilization descended from a Qu slave race that no longer recognized it's cousins as alive and attempted to exterminate them by blocking out sunlight and mass orbital bombardment. Qu (All Tomorrows) - Alien empire that mastered genetic engineering technology and, in revenge for humans terraforming of ecosystems they believed theirs, mutated them into a bunch of twisted forms as punishment and kept them around as slaves, many of which were actively tortured. ![]() Also it's "security" team tried to murder everyone after the founder died and the Borderlands inserted a death game into the hotel. Provides it's inhabitants with rather good (luxury hotel esque) living conditions using resources from the hotel and scavenged around Tokyo, create teams to improve game survival odds for it's members, and is the only area with consistent power, but has a cultlike relationship to it's founder and kills anyone who tries to leave. The Beach (Alice In Borderland) - Self-proclaimed "utopia" of a few hundred people holed up in a luxury hotel, trying to survive the so-called "Borderlands", a death game that forces several hundred people in a seemingly abandoned closed off Tokyo to perform death games every few days. Was planning on turning many of it's slaves into human-horse hybrids to better undertake heavy lifting work. WorryFree Corp (Sorry To Bother You) - Manufacturing corporation that tries to get poor people to sign slavery contacts, where they're forcibly worked in sweatshop-like conditions for the rest of their working lives. The Baby Eaters might even be a Q or lower, since the babies are essentially tortured to death over weeks.ĭeath Stenches (Gyo) - Self-replicating supernatural machine virus of spiderlike "walking machines" that infect humans, turning them into bloated, rotting infectees, before strapping them to new machines and using them to infect new areas until they slowly rot to death over a matter of weeks. If so I'd move the aforementioned Cooperation Faction up to an E since they're similar in performing minor involuntary mental modifications to create a real utopia. I'm not sure if the Superhappies would really qualify as high as an E given their willingness to violate people's mental autonomy, though their resulting society was genuinely utopian. ![]()
